My dad raised me on, among other things, the films of Laurel and Hardy so I've known some of these tunes (without realizing I knew them...) for over 30 years. There were some tracks I was unfamiliar with, but others that instantly brought to mind Laurel pulling down the shadows of lamp shades, or a prison riot, or any number of scenes I hadn't thought of in decades. And for being "incidental" music, many of the tunes are surprisingly catchy.The quality of these recordings is fantastic. It's like they took the original recordings and somehow made them stereo and removed the noise from them. The musicians are clearly familiar with their source and as I understand it, there was also a lot of digging (and at times, brute-force transcription) done to re-create some of this almost lost music.If you're a fan of Laurel & Hardy, this purchase is a no-brainer. It's also a great deal considering how much music you get. I purchased the mp3 version. And even if you're completely unfamiliar with these classic films, this is great music to put a smile on your face and liven up any room. Thank you to the Beau Hunks who put so much effort and caring into creating this recording.
