I am no admirer of Lyndon B. Johnson, because he needlessly squandered American blood and treasure in Vietnam. However, Laurence Luckinbill's portrayal of our thirty-sixth president makes LBJ a somewhat sympathetic and understandable character. LBJ may have had a page in American history in the category of FDR, but the Vietnam War removed Johnson from the potential of such a lofty legacy.
