Description

Limited 140gm blue and white swirl vinyl LP pressing. Play Don't Worry is the second album by the guitar legend and former member of The Spiders from Mars (i.e.: David Bowie's Ziggy-era back-up band). It contains mainly covers arranged by Ronson for his own sound, covering everyone from Pure Prairie League, The Velvet Underground and Little Richard. The backing track to "White Light/White Heat" was salvaged from David Bowie's Pin Ups sessions. Ronson was a session musician who recorded with Bowie followed by several albums with Ian Hunter, also Morrissey, as well as a sideman in touring bands with Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. He also recorded several solo albums. Ronson played with various bands after his time with Bowie. He was named the 64th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone in 2003 and 41st in 2012 by the same magazine.

I own an original mint condition U.S. pressing that I bought new when this Ronno LP was first released, as well as a U.S. CD. I was blown away by how much better this Drastic Plastic pressing is than the original vinyl or CD, thanks to the legendary master Kevin Gray, no doubt! In addition it's on heavy dead quiet vinyl, with full analogue remastering. The soundstage, imaging, depth, clarity, separation, and sound quality is better in every respect than the original U.S. pressing or the CD. While I don't have an original U.K. copy to compare to I can't imagine it beats this D.P. pressing. If you're a Mick Ronson fan, get this while you can, it's very limited and well worth the price!
